Christmas in the UP

We spent Christmas in the UP with Jon's family. Owen traveled pretty well, thank goodness for DVD players :-) 6 hours is a long time! They had plenty of snow up there and Owen loved it. He went sledding and even got a ride on the 4-wheeler! He was spoiled rotten with presents!

We left for the UP on the 23rd of December so we had to celebrate our little family Christmas the night before we left. Owen got a new train set, a vacuum cleaner, LOTS of books, and a magna doodle!

We celebrated Christmas with my side of the family a week early. The day is complete with lots of family time, plenty of food, constant gift opening with all the kids, and off course a visit from Santa!

Arts & Crafts

I decided to "attempt" finger painting with Owen. And it was indeed an "attempt." He loved making his masterpieces but did not like the idea of using his fingers to paint. So I had to search high and low for a paint brush after successfuly finding one he was well on his way. Not sure if we have a Picaso on our hands but he did do some GREAT work!

Half-Way There!

Well we are half-way there...yay! The first 20 weeks have dragged for me, partly because they are not always the easiest for me. But we are thankful that our little peanut #2 is growing how he/she should and is at a heathy 10 ounces. I have been feeling the baby for quite sometime now, but it is getting more and more each day! Owen still has NO idea that his little life is going to dramtically change in April. But we talk to him everyday about being a BIG brother and about the baby growing in mommy's belly, unfortunately he thinks the baby is in his belly and daddy's but hey atleast he is starting to figure it out a little bit. Below are pictures from our ultrasound today, and I threw one in of Owen and Jon from last night, this is Owen's way of unwinding at night :-) We took Owen out in the snow and he LOVED it, he kept saying "WOW" everytime he went to the window yesterday and saw the snow. I love this time year and yes, even the snow!

Shutterfly...

Okay so I am jumping on the bandwagon along with a large amount of others that blog to write a post about Shutterfly to get my 50 free Holiday cards. I am usually on top of it when it comes to my Christmas cards, I like to get them out by the first week of December. Well, don't be looking for your Christmas card from the Potvin's this year in your mail box that early, I am behind the ball here. In years passed I have had out photographer take our pictures and make our Christmas cards. Halloween Weekend

This weekend was a very busy weekend. Our weekend began with us meeting up with some friends and visiting a farm complete with farm animals and a corn maze. It was a cold night but we had a great time. Saturday we went over to Jill and Jason's house to go trunk or treating at their church and then off to do some trick or treating in their neighborhood. Owen was a little trooper and ate waaaay to much candy and stayed up waaay to late, but he sure had a lot of fun. Sunday was trick or treating in our neighborhood. We dressed him up once again and visited some of the neighbors and he helped hand out candy to all the kids that came to our door :-)

U.P.

A couple of weekends ago we traveled to the U.P. to have a visit with Jon's parents. Jon and I also were attending the Green Bay Packer game that Sunday and Owen was going to spend the WHOLE day with Grandpa and Grandma Potvin. Jon's parents live on the Escanaba river and their neighbors have 2 little kids, 4 horses, 2 cats, a dog and plenty of fun stuff for the kids. Needless to say Owen thoroughly enjoyed himself. He really has no fear when it comes to animals. He loved the cats, he loved watching the horses, and we were even able to feed them some carrots. The weather for the weekend was beautiful! Jon and I met up with some friends for tailgating at the Packer game had GREAT seats, GREAT weather and even though Packers had a tough loss in overtime, we really had a great time!

What we are up to.....

I noticed it has been a bit since I have posted. I apologize to those that check this blog regularly :-) Usually the first trimester of pregnancy for me is not so much fun, but I am smiling now......I feel like I am on the upswing. I have not almost lost my breakfast in a few days. Knock on wood that is a good sign :-) Since I have been feeling better Owen and I got together with some friends and visited Post Family Farms. There Owen got to pet the animals, ride on the pumpkin train; which he LOVED. I was not able to catch very many of his great expressions on the train but he had a good time laughing and waving at all of us moms. We were able to take a hayride and Owen got to pick out his own pumpkin! Lastly, we could not leave withough enjoying fresh cider and donuts!

Yes, that is what you think it is :-) The Potvin Family is expanding and we are making Owen a BIG brother! We are due April 22, 2011!

Eric and Nicole's Wedding

This passed labor day weekend we were able to celebrate the marriage of Jon's brother Eric. Eric and Nicole got married on September 3rd. The weather was not as good as we would have hoped for but we did see little peaks of sunshine throughout the day. It was a busy day for our whole family. Jon was the best man, I was a bridesmaid, and sang in the wedding, and Owen was a ring bearer. Owen did such a good job at rehearsal but when it came to the day he would not go down the aisle, Jon ended up carrying him down the aisle. Despite not going down the aisle he did a WONDERFUL job with pictures and looked as cute as a button! We are all so excited for Eric and Nicole!
