Traverse City 2012

We had a great vaction with my side of the family in Traverse City, Michigan.  In years passed we have gone camping but this year we decided to try Traverse City, we stayed at Lake Shore Resort where we each had our own condo right on the beach on Traverse Bay.  We had GREAT weather and enjoyed the beach and water. We had a pontoon boat and a Jet Ski for the whole week and we took full advantage.  It was a fun filled week of riding bikes, eating ice cream, swimming, relaxation, fishing, shopping, golfing, and reflecting on all the blessings God has blessed us with!

Lucy is 1!

Okay well she is actually now, 13 months old......I am a little bit behind on the blog post.
We had a wonderful time celebrating our girl turning 1, we did nothing extravagant but had a few friends over on her "actual" birthday and then celebrated with my whole family with a joint celebration with her cousin Maia, who turned 3.

Easter 2012

our life right now.....

Two words, potty and training. The whole potty training kind of fell into our lap. We visited the pediatrician last week Monday and Owen decided he would use the potty for Dr. Rauwerda, it was quite a surprise seeing we have been talking about the potty for months (even had some successful attempts) but had all of a sudden developed a fear of it all. So after using the potty for the Dr. I decided to just go with it and try. We have gotten him to wear his big boy undies, do a LOT of sitting on the potty, and have had a lot more accidents than successes. I figure baby steps, right?

Owen is 3!

My baby boy is 3! He is not so much a baby anymore :) We celebrated with a dump truck themed party. He got to celebrate with Grandpa and Grandma P, Uncle Eric and Aunt Nicole the weekend before his birthday, he had a blast and loved all of his new presents. On his actual birthday he started his day with birthday toast, we visited the Children's Museum (and what visit isn't complete without a melt down because he didn''t want to leave) We ended the day with a party with his Meme and Papa, Uncle, Aunts, and all of his cousins!

January....

These are a few things that we have been trying/working on over here........

We are hoping to send Owen to a 3's preschool for two mornings a week this September. One endeavor we have to overcome before he can go is potty training. We have had a few successful attempts on the "big" potty but Owen has recently decided that he wants nothing to do it. Sooo we let him pick out his own potty. Going with the sports theme, and complete with cheering when he goes, was right up his alley. But unfortunately it as lost the coolness factor and we are back to square one. No such luck, he is just not into yet, so in the meantime we keep changing the diapers :(

Lucy on the other hand, had her first go with spaghetti. She loved it. This child may not look like she eats, but she would eat ALL day if I would let her. She was pretty proud of her mess at this point!

Where has the time gone......

Yes, I am waaay behind in blogging about our little family. Since my last post we have celebrated Halloween, Thanksgiving (which I neglected to take pictures of), Lucy all of sudden became 8 1/2 months old, and we celebrated Christmas. It's been a whirlwind of a few months, and some how we fit a trip up to the UP in there to visit Jon's family! This post will be me playing catch up with LOTS of pictures, so enjoy!

Not to many pictures were taken on our trip to the UP. It was the first time we traveled the 6 hours with the two kids and the did GREAT!
