Oh our sweet baby girl is 6 months old already! At 6 months you....

• Weigh 15 lbs. (40th%)


• are 26 3/4" tall (85th%) Where do our children get their height????


• eat four to five 5 oz. bottles a day and ahve started to eat some baby food....you do NOT like vegetables.


• Take 3 naps still...one in the morning, afternoon, and a short 45 minute one in the evening.


• You go to bed around 6:30pm, sleep till 4am and want a bottle, and then sleep till 6:30-7ish. Your brother was sleeping 12 hours at this time.....mommy and daddy would really like it if you start to follow in his foot steps :)


• You love more and more to watch your big brother and he continues to get belly laughs from you.
  

4 months old!

Lucy is 4 month old! We cannot believe how time flies!

At 4 months old.......

~You weigh 12 lbs. 7 oz. (35th percentile)
~You are 24 3/4" (80th percentile) Owen and her have some good ol' dutch genes coming out :-)
~You nurse every 3-4 hours.
~You continue to sleep through the night and mommy and daddy love it!
~You are in 3-6 month clothes.
~You rolled over from your tummy to your back for the first time at exactly 4 months old, probaby would have done it earlier but your mommy is bad at putting you on your tummy.
~You still have not slept in your crib...oops! You love, love your bassinet but growing out of it fast!
~You tried rice cereal for the first time and loved it.
~You belly laugh at your brother, we love it and so does he :-)
~You take a great morning nap but like to catnap all afternoon and into the evening, hoping it changes soon.
~You go to bed at around 8 or 8:30pm.
~You smile at EVERYbody that talks to you :-)
~You go with the flow and rarely cry unless you are hungry or tired.

Lucy at 2 months old

I am a little behind on posting this but thought I would anyways.....

Lucy at 2 months old:

Weight: 10lbs. 4oz. (60th percentile)

Height: 22 1/2 inches (40th percentile)

You love your brother and smile at him all the time

You love your swing and will sleep in it for hours

You love your bassinet

Anyone can make you smile and we love it!

You have been sleeping through the night since about 7 weeks old

You eat every 3-4 hours

We had a great fourth of Juy this year. It began with the annual Hollyhock Parade, the oldest parade in Grand Rapids. It is not a very big parade but it goes down our street and the kids get TONS of candy. After this parade there is always a neighborhood brunch in the alley behind our house we had a great time! After naps we ended the day with friends at their pool. It was long and funfilled weekend.

We had our annual camping trip to Triponds in Allegan this past week. We had great weather and tons of fun. It was certainly relaxing and great to not have to worry about cleaning, cooking and laundry! Owen and Lucy did pretty well. Owen had tons of fun despite going into the week with an ear infection and not sleeping the greatest. Lucy continued to be the easy baby she has always been!

What we have been up to....

Life has not been to busy over here. We are really enjoying life with two and finding that the transition from one to two has gone fairly smoothly. Lucy has proven to be a VERY laid back, easy going baby. She does not cry all that much except when she is hungry, needs to be changed, or over tired. We are sleeping at night besides the once or twice she wakes her momma up to eat, she has even given us a few 5-6 hour stretches at night here and there. We are hoping this becomes the norm sooner or later but for now we are not feeling the sleep deprivation to badly. Owen has gotten used to having a little sister around and loves on her whenever he can sometimes I catch him loving on her a little to much......swinging her in her swing a little to high, bouncing her in her bouncy seat a little to hard or better yet trying to almost sit with her in the seat, forcing the paci into her mouth, giving her blankie to her but placed over head, is to name just a few. Needless to say he adores his little sister and we are working on teaching him to be "gentle," but what can we say he is all boy :)
We have spent sometime at my sister's pool and Owen has amazed us in the water. The kid has no fear. He LOVES to jump into the water and can't get enough of the diving board. He is having a blast!

Life with 2

Well so far so good :-) We are adjusting from a family of three to a family of four quite well. Lucy has proven to be a very easy, content baby. We actually have been getting sleep over here at the Potvin household :-) Owen has adjusted fairly well to being a big brother. He has had his moments but that was to be expected. He loves to bring me diapers, her blankie, her paci and loves, loves to give her kisses when ever he can. He truly loves his new little sister.
