New Playroom, New Bedroom, New Bed, and Soon to be a New Baby Brother or Sister

Why does it seem like just yesterday that we were bringing this sweet little baby home........

and now he has somehow turned into this sweet little boy?

Boy does time fly and in a short 7 weeks this little boys life is REALLY going to be turned upside down, not in a bad way but in a good way.....well maybe I should let him be the one to decide when that time comes :-) But in the meantime before this baby comes, the Potvin house has undergone a few changes.

When we first moved back into our house we had hopes of having the basement redone at the time that we were redoing everything else in the house, boy were we wrong, it didn't happen. Well, I am happy to announce the basement is done, all of it but the bathroom, that I am pretty sure we are not going to tackle until after this baby comes. But I will say, we may throw a small party when we can finally sit back and say; we are DONE. Did I mention that when we decide to sell and buy another house we will NOT be buying a fixer upper? We want move in ready. :-)
Anyways, Owen now officially has a playroom that he LOVES, along with his mommy who no longer has toys taking over her living room :-) And I officially have a place to do hair other than my dining room where we really do eat, yeah, pretty gross huh? And to those family and friends who's hair I still do.....I can now wash your hair in a actual shampoo bowl and it is not you leaning over my kitchen sink any longer :-) The area where I do hair is shared with where we wash our clothes, but hey it is better than nothing, and I will take it! Here are the pictures to prove it:

Along with all of these changes, Owen has a new bedroom! And with this new bedroom came a new bed, a "big boy bed!" No more crib for him. So far the transition has gone well, I will not say it has been easy. One example being that while I was just writing this post, Jon and I watched him fall off the end of the bed onto our wood floors through the video monitor, yup, feeling pretty terrible right now. I jumped off the couch pretty fast, the fastest I think you would have ever seen a 7 month pregnant woman move. Someday we will tell him the story and laugh, someday. Anyways, here are the pictures of Owen's new room:

The picture above was taken after the fall out of bed, we have since added another bed rail :-)

And last, the BIGGEST change to come is his new baby brother or baby sister, set to arrive Monday, April 18th at sometime in the morning. Pictures to come soon!

Blog Auction

As so many of you may know my older sister, Jill and my brother in-law, Jason are adopting from Ethiopia. They already have 3 beautiful children but have hopes of adopting a son from Ethiopia to make it 4! There is a large price tag that goes along with adopting internationally. It can be upwards to $30,000. Along with the price tag comes a lot of patience, strength and faith.
Our younger sister, Betsy is the author of the blog, The Dainty Daisy, and runs her own etsy shop, The Dainty Daisy, is having a blog auction to help raise money to fund Jill and Jason's adoption. I would love for those that read my blog to check it out and better yet maybe even participate or bid. The auction begins March 6th and ends March 12th, you can find out all the info you may want to know here. Read more about Jill and Jason's journey here. Hope you can help bring my nephew home!
