What we are up to.....

I noticed it has been a bit since I have posted. I apologize to those that check this blog regularly :-) Usually the first trimester of pregnancy for me is not so much fun, but I am smiling now......I feel like I am on the upswing. I have not almost lost my breakfast in a few days. Knock on wood that is a good sign :-) Since I have been feeling better Owen and I got together with some friends and visited Post Family Farms. There Owen got to pet the animals, ride on the pumpkin train; which he LOVED. I was not able to catch very many of his great expressions on the train but he had a good time laughing and waving at all of us moms. We were able to take a hayride and Owen got to pick out his own pumpkin! Lastly, we could not leave withough enjoying fresh cider and donuts!

Yes, that is what you think it is :-) The Potvin Family is expanding and we are making Owen a BIG brother! We are due April 22, 2011!

Eric and Nicole's Wedding

This passed labor day weekend we were able to celebrate the marriage of Jon's brother Eric. Eric and Nicole got married on September 3rd. The weather was not as good as we would have hoped for but we did see little peaks of sunshine throughout the day. It was a busy day for our whole family. Jon was the best man, I was a bridesmaid, and sang in the wedding, and Owen was a ring bearer. Owen did such a good job at rehearsal but when it came to the day he would not go down the aisle, Jon ended up carrying him down the aisle. Despite not going down the aisle he did a WONDERFUL job with pictures and looked as cute as a button! We are all so excited for Eric and Nicole!

What we have been up to......(Rob Dykstra this one is for you!)

We have been fairly busy the passed couple weeks. Besides getting ready for Uncle Eric and Aunt Nicole's wedding coming up this Friday, we have been to Meme and Papa's to visit. There we realxed watching movies with Papa, took a bath with cousin Belle, and of course had to have a golf cart ride with Papa! We also visited the zoo with all of Owen's cousins, we missed Belle that day, but hopefully she can come along next time. Owen got to see LOTS of animals and really enjoyed himself. As of late Owen has taken quite the interest in shoes. I came home the other day with some new rain boots for the fall for him and as you can tell he LOVES them and always wants to wear them. I choose my battles and if he wants to wear the boots out I let him. We had to draw the line with church. But from the pictures he pretty much does everything in them!

Huizinga Camping Trip 2010

This past week we took a small vacaction with all of my siblings and my parents to Triponds Campground in Allegan, Michigan. It was a fun filled week. We spent a lot of our week chasing kiddos (especially the one year olds), swimming, swinging, feeding the animals, kayaking, taking walks, playing with cousins, being dirty and much needed relaxing during the kids naps! We cannot wait for next years trip!

Yes, Owen could not get enough of his cousin's baby stroller, he would push it pretty much everywhere. Notice the basketball in the seat....:-) His daddy did not like the idea of him pushing a baby stroller, but atleast he added the basketball to the mix :-)

Ice Cream, Ice Cream, We All Scream for Ice Cream!

Well and popsicles :-) Since moving into our house I have been a bit behind in updating what we have been up to besides redoing a home :-) Since it has been such a warm summer, we have been eating A LOT of ice cream. Owen sure takes after his daddy in his love for ice cream. The boy LOVES it. He is at such a fun age but when he is awake he keeps this momma busy. He is loving the new house and loving the yard. He stands at the door daily waiting to go outside. I love it :-) We leave for our first family camping trip on Sunday, so stay tuned for the pictures!

What you have been waiting for

Well I can honestly say we are feeling settled. It has been a whirlwind of a six weeks but we have made it through. I do not recommend what we did but after everything is said and done it makes you appreciate your home all the more :-) We have had a TON of help from family and friends and without them, no way would we have accomplished what we have. We have come a LONG ways and there is still work to be done. The upstairs is pretty much completed besides my backsplash in the kitchen, which goes in on Sunday and I cannot wait! Air conditioning goes in hopefully this week, and yes you heard me...we have had NO central air in this house and let me tell you the last week has not been that much fun, sooo appreciate it if you got it, I know I will FOR SURE! The front foyer has to have the light hung and some patch work on the walls and sidenote: I was pretty proud of myself through this whole process, I learned a lot about house renovating.....I learned about tileing and I even grouted the whole foyer and closet myself :-) The downstairs continues to be a work in progress but from what I hear "work in progress" goes hand in hand when you live in a home. I am slowly trying to empty out the rec room so we can lay carpet and put Owen's playroom down there. His current playroom is our guest bedroom. The bathroom down there has yet to be gutted but this too while come in time :-) So enough babbling from me, enjoy the pictures! :-)
