This past weekend we made the 6 hour drive to the UP to visit Jon's family in Gladstone. Owen's great grandma was turing 80 and we could not miss celebrating with her! Up there we spend a lot of time relaxing and making our rounds visiting everyone that wants to see Owen. The weather was not as warm as what we would have liked but Owen still got to go outside and play.

We had a fun filled Easter weekend this year. On Friday, Jon got home early and since it was so nice out we took a walk downtown. There was a LARGE easter egg hunt downtown this year and there was a TON of little kids running around, Owen loved watching all the kids. Afterwards we enjoyed dinner outside at The Bulls Head. On Sunday we traveled to Kalamazoo and spent the day at Meme and Papa's house. Owen got to experience his first golf cart ride at Meme and Papa's house! He was not to sure about it at first, but had a BIG smile on his face afterwards!

Some New Stuff

As many of you know, I have been busy, busy, busy! Not just because I have a 1 year old that I have learned is a VERY active, full of energy, into everything, little boy! I have been sewing up a storm and I just thought I would use our blog to just give you a little glimpse into what I have been doing. Besides chasing around that little boy modeling his new outfit from his Grandpa & Grandma Potvin pictured above. These are some gift sets that I just finished making and I thought that they were so cute that I HAD to post the pictures of them along with my sweet boy :-) These are already spoken for but can definetely be remade to look identical. Our active Little Boy

Since turning one, our little boy has been nothing but active. He had his 12 month appointment and is still a growing boy. He is 23 lbs. and is still in the 85th% for height. Not to sure where he gets the height from??? I am constantly buying him new pants because they keep getting to short. He is wearing mostly 18-24 month clothes, he is still taking his two naps, (which mommy really likes :-)), he is completely off of formula and drinking normal Vitamin D Milk, and we have officially graduated to a sippy cup. My doctor pretty much told me at his 12 month appointment that I have to take away ALL of his bottles right away, but I have still held onto the bottle before bed. I was not looking forward to taking the bottles away "cold turkey" I really just thought it was plain flat mean, but we did it, and Owen had NO care in the world. His pediatrician was right when she told me it is usually more rough on the parent than the child. Why can't us adults be as resilient as kids?

Owen has since gotten into many things....from the pictures above he has thrown pretty much everything into the toilet. If there is a toilet left open, be sure to find an array of things in it, this morning it was his favorite blankie, really hoping it is done washing by nap time. He has also started climbing, not only the steps but the red rocking chair. Don't worry I let him stand on it only long enough for me to get the picture. He has fallen off of it from standing and has yet to do it again, thinking he has learned his lesson :-) Since we do not have yard, Owen has not had much experience with dirt. Well I keep a planter outside on our balcony and yes, you've guessed it, he got into it and decided to see what dirt tasted like. If you are wondering he DID NOT like it! :-)

Mom2Mom Sale

My sister and I have been busy, busy, busy! We have rented a table at our MOPS Mom2Mom Sale and are selling some of our homemade baby items. If you are interested in coming it is Saturday, March 20 @ 9AM-2PM at Cornerstone Church in Caledonia (corner of 84th st. and Kalamazoo Ave.) My sister crochets ADORABLE hats for boys and girls, sweaters, and headbands. Since I cut hair, I thought it was high time Owen got his first haircut. It took me a bit to decide if I wanted to cut it.....I was holding out for the possibility that he would have curls.....I thought he was going to but no such luck.....sadly I think he has his mommy's lovely hair. So this weekend I finally cut it. I did not cut much and he really did not like me touching his hair so we resorted to LOTS of toys and suckers! He was a sticky, hairy mess aftewards but he sure looks handsome and OLD! Where did my little baby go??
